Music style

Aiden combines post-hardcore and emocore attitudes^[1]. Taking influence from bands such as Avenged Sevenfold, Coheed and Cambria, Thursday^[2]. Aiden has claimed on their official website that they play Horror Rock, however the band do not share the same characteristics as the bands belonging to the horror rock genre, nor the same fanbase.

Criticism

Aiden has received criticism because the group appears to imitate the band AFI. Some are of the opinion that the group dishonors AFI by imitating the sound AFI took over a decade to develop.^[3] The group has also been criticised because of its mallgoth image--they are sometimes referred to as a "mallcore" band.^[4] However, Aiden receives strong support from media outlets such as Kerrang! who placed the band on the front cover of its magazine.
